Christmas Play and Trash Digging

Today was the Christmas Play. Yes, it's after Christmas... the original play was pushed back because of the giant snow storm. Levi was the "T" in "Christmas." His line was "The T is for the travelers who followed the star." He did a GREAT job!

Luke was not in the Christmas play as he is too young... but instead of leaving him out of the photo today, I caught him in the act doing something disgusting. I recently finished off a few frosting cans and they were in the trash... Luke was eating out of them. Thankfully they were right on top and he didn't have to dig through to get it. Still, very gross! But he said cheese for the picture :)

Big Top Cupcake FAIL!

Levi bought me a Big Top Cupcake thing for Christmas. Ryan asked him what he wanted to get mommy and he said "hmm... something so she can bake me a cake!" I bake a lot of cakes for other people and sell them, so Levi gets disapointed often when I'm not making that cool cake for him.

Anyway, we made the Big Top Cupcake today. It turned out awful. It's not iced yet, but it's definitely a failure. I need to try a few different ideas and maybe it will come out like the ones on TV!
Regardless of how it turned out, it was fun to make. Levi loves to bake and I hate to have anyone in the kitchen with me, but to solve the problem I pre-measured everything so it wasn't a giant crazy house. He dumped and stirred and helped to pour the batter into the mold. He was thrilled, I had fun, and that's all that matters :)

Happy New Year!

This year is going to be a great year. I can feel it in my bones! (Literally... I have a pin in one foot and it feels funny when it's raining!)

I want to document this year in a way I never have before. Today it starts.

This is how I began 2010:

And this is how my children started 2010:

What is Project 365?

Project 365 is where you take a picture every day for an entire year. It's a way to help you remember the year and to help you see what is important to you when you look back at that year.

Here is a great explanation of it, including an interview with the man who started it all.

I'm very excited to start this project and I hope to keep it going for the entire year!
